A Day At The Beach.....The End Of October!!!

The weather was so fabulous today that we decided to head to the beach...our first time. My friend that I met at the mall told me where she went so we decided to go there.

If was about 35 minutes away...and worth the drive!!!

My camera broke so I am not sure if I can get the pics on the computer or not. We are going to Best Buy tomorrow to see if I get a new one with the warranty or they have to send it away to be fixed. We have Disney on Ice tomorrow so I have to have a camera!! So hopefully pictures to come later!

The water was a balmy 58 degrees...which was a little too cold for me....but the girls wanted to swim swim swim! We settled with getting out legs wet in the waves when a big one came near us.

They enjoyed playing in the sand, getting buried in the sand and building sand castles. I, like a der der dern, forgot towels and sand stuff so we had to stop and get some before we got to the beach.

It wasn't that busy which was nice and made finding a parking spot easy. It was about 72 out today so a few locals were there surfing. Ashleigh is angry that she doesn't have a wetsuit so she could surf! She told daddy, when she called him tonight, that he needs to get her a wetsuit!

The girls took turns burying each other in the sand and smashing the buckets of sand they would make.

Things were going well until this old lady came by us feeding the sea gulls. Now if you don't know what sea gulls do when you have food.....they stalk you and attack you. Well they thought that we gave them the food. The girls wanted to go to the water so I went with them and this sea gull starts going through our stuff looking for food.

I had everything packaged up so that this wouldn't happen. I had to take our clothes out of the bag, put them on the blanket and put our snacks in a zip beach bag. So I think we are in the clear....WRONG!!

I look over and see the chunky sea gull picking at Ashleigh's shoe and then take off with Addison's juice box!! It's a Capri sun package and this dumbass sea gull starts running off with it!

I tried to catch it to get it back...but these damn things crap everywhere and steal your juice boxes and they are protected! You can't touch them! It would take the juice, caaa to it's little friends then grab it up whenever they or I got too close. I finally gave up and said forget it!!

We had a great time and will for sure be going back. Rick really was sad taht he didn't get to come. There is always next time!

I can't wait to post pictures! lol

That is stinking hilarious. I had the same thing happen to me in a park in Spokane with the sea gulls. Who knew that they'd just go nuts. I felt like I was in an Alfred Hitchcock movie.
By the way, 58 degree water sounds awesome. I would totally be swimming. We had our first skiff of snow here yesterday and it was 18 this morning. ugh
