A Very Sleepless Night....

I am just sick thinking about all the damage Ike caused. I see the pictures on the news of Galveston and almost start crying! We have so many great memories all along there! I have driven the see wall road so many times to get to the aquarium. We have spent much time along the beach That was Ashleigh's first beach experience...(see below) I just think of all the memories we created there. I didn't sleep much worrying about all our friends that are there. Most are in Houston so they were told not to evacuate...but still it is crazy what they were going through. I talked to Janet about midnight their time and she said that the shingles were blowing off their roof. They live about 45 minutes away from Galveston. I tired calling her this morning, and as expected, her cell phone didn't go through. They said 4 million people are without power now. I can't even imagine the state of the entire city....and not being able to call your loved ones and let them know you are okay. I can't imagine still living there and not being able to call my Mom and tell her we are okay. I am just sick to my stomach thinking about it! I know there is flooding everywhere due to Ike...so please keep everyone affected in your thoughts and prayers.

An Update....I talked to my friend Janet and she and her family are safe. Her sister lives in one of the hard hit areas and the only damage she had was a few shingles off her roof. Janet's house lost a lot of shingles and cause the attic to leak and then it caused the ceiling to start to leak. I just keep looking at the pictures and get very emotional. This is the first time something like this has really hit home. I just feel like crying thinking about all the damage and work ahead. It's been a long few days.
